Located in
the Caribbean coast to 34 km of Santa Marta, via Riohacha, department
of the Magdalena. It has an extension of 15,000 hectares of which
12,000 are terrestrial and 3,000 are marine, the altitude of the
park oscillates between 0 to 900 meters on the level of the sea;
counting on temper-warm climate and 30 25 a variable temperature
of ºC to ºC.
In these 15,000 hectares sand beaches converge fine,
the rocky humedales, forests, coasts, manglares, sea and a delicate
zone of chorale reefs, produces a sensation of rest and distance
of the noise of the civilization.
Some of frequented beaches more are Palmarito, Neguange, Chenge,
Gaicara and Bay Shell, this last one, the best place to make diving.
The most well-known zones and with better infrastructure
for the ecological tourism are Cane plantation and Reefs, near the
main entrance of the Tayrona (to 34 kilometers of Santa Marta by
the Main one of the Caribbean). In this area it is possible to obtain
feeding, room and zones to encamp. In addition, they are the points
where the ways and footpaths come together that unite all the geography
of the Park.
It is possible to be arrived by two sectors:
The Zaíno, by where it enters Cane plantation, is to 34 kilometers
of Santa Marta, by hand left, by the Main one of the Caribbean that
goes to Riohacha. The route is in good conditions. And by Palangana,
by where one enters the zone of Neguange, to 10 kilometers of Santa
Marta, by hand left, by the Main one of the Caribbean course to
Riohacha.
